Get Festive This December In Canmore

posted by: BEST WESTERN PLUS Pocaterra Inn on: November 21, 2014 04:28:55 PM
Snow-painted pines, white-washed mountains— it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Canmore. So, if you find yourself in our magnificent, mountainous city, how do you get your fix of yuletide cheer?
Well, you’ve got several great options.
First up is The Canmore Rotary Festival of Trees, which runs from December 5th to 24th. The event, which is presented by The Rotary Club of Canmore, is the perfect way to counteract December’s shorter days, as it brightens the night with twinkling lights and dazzling decorations. Better still, the festival’s purpose is community development. So come on down, enjoy Christmas cheer, music, raffles and more, all for a good cause. Next up is the delightfully tacky Ugly Christmas Sweater Soiree. This gala goes down on December 6th, at the Canmore Civic Centre Atrium, just a short jaunt from our wonderful hotel. The festivities, which run from 7:30-midnight, will include scrumptious snacks, delicious desert, and dueling pianos. Better still, there will be a chocolate-themed charity auction, and of course, prizes for the best ugly sweater. Tickets can be purchased for just $40, by calling the Canmore Golf and Curling Club.
Last, but not least, is a breakfast with a very special individual— Santa Claus himself. The meal is hosted by the Canmore Golf and Curling Club, just a brief walk from our hotel.  There will be a hearty breakfast buffet, music and dancing for children, and of course, professional photo ops with the man himself, Santa. Ticket prices are $18 for adults and $15 for kids. The first seating runs from 9:00am to 10:30, while second runs from 1:00 to 12:30. Like the Ugly Christmas Sweater Soiree, tickets for this event can be acquired by contacting the Golf and Curling Club. Act fast if you want a spot at St. Nick’s table!
Yes, whether you’re after a romantic night under dazzling lights, light-hearted fun, or a good, old-fashioned holiday eating, Canmore has got something for you. So stop dreaming of a white Christmas, and go experience one first hand. Book a room at our inn and experience all the holiday cheer our city has to offer!
